Pneumatic ATEX Stationary IBC Mixer MSRP-5000 ECO Ex (Zone 1, Gas + Dust)
The MSRP-5000 ECO Ex is our only pneumatic ATEX stationary mixer. It sits as a fixed station on the floor of a paint kitchen, solvent line or ethanol production area. The air motor drives a folding ∅350 mm 316Ti propeller through the DN150 cap of a 600, 800 or 1000 L IBC tote. The whole unit is certified for ATEX Zone 1 with both gas and dust atmospheres — marking EX II 2GD h IIb T4 under Directive 2014/34/EU.
Because the drive is pneumatic, there is no electric ignition source on the equipment that goes into the zone. That is what makes the unit intrinsically safe for this duty — the air motor cannot generate the spark that would matter inside a flammable-vapour atmosphere. The painted St3 column carries an earthing strap connection so the operator can bond the frame to the building earth grid, as the ATEX installation document for the area normally requires.
Who buys this mixer
The typical customer is a producer of solvents, varnishes, lacquers or ethanol-based chemistry. Coating shops and paint manufacturers where the IBC sits in a Zone 1 area through the working day. Resin and adhesive plants with styrene or solvent vapours. Distillery and pharmaceutical operations where ethanol concentration triggers the zone classification. Anywhere a stationary IBC mixer is needed and the electric MSE-10000 cannot legally go.
The standard air supply is 6–7 bar through a regulator with continuous valve speed control — the operator turns the valve and the propeller speeds up or slows down from the same panel position. Standard line lubrication ships as the default; an oil-free (oilless) execution is available as a paid option for paint, food and pharma applications where compressed-air contamination is a concern.
Where this mixer works
- Solvent paint and varnish production where the IBC station sits inside a Zone 1 ATEX area on a continuous basis.
- Ethanol and ester chemistry — pharmaceutical intermediates, fragrance bases, ethanol-based cleaning products.
- Polyester and epoxy resin batching with styrene vapours in the immediate IBC area.
- Distillery and food-grade alcohol operations where the legal classification puts the IBC inside Zone 1.
- Plants that need a fixed station instead of a mobile ATEX IBC mixer because the recipe runs continuously across shifts.

How the MSRP-5000 ECO Ex fits the stationary range
None of the other stationary models in our range are ATEX. The MSE-10000 and MSE-10000 ECO are electric and cannot go into a Zone 1 area. The MSU-1000 is electric universal for IBC and drums but again not ATEX. For mobile ATEX IBC mixing see the MKP-5000 Ex in the IBC range — same air motor concept but on a portable bridge.
Related models
- MKP-5000 Ex — mobile pneumatic ATEX IBC mixer (same ATEX coverage, portable instead of fixed)
- MSE-10000 — industrial electric stationary (non-ATEX) for non-flammable media
- MSU-1000 — universal stationary mixer (non-ATEX) for IBC and drums

Description |
The MSRP-5000 ECO Ex is the only pneumatic ATEX stationary IBC mixer in our range. Built for Zone 1 atmospheres with gas and dust (EX II 2GD h IIb T4), intrinsically safe by virtue of the air-driven motor (no electric ignition source on the equipment). Folding ∅350 mm 316Ti propeller, electric lift frame, painted St3 column with earthing strap connection for proper bonding inside the Ex zone. Designed around customers producing solvents, varnishes and ethanol-based chemistry in 600–1000 L IBC totes. |
The MSE-10000 is our industrial stationary IBC mixer for continuous duty production. 1.5 kW electric drive with integrated VFD (variable frequency drive), continuous speed regulation from 100 to 300 rpm at the operator panel, electric lift frame and folding ∅350 mm 316Ti propeller. Because the mixer stands on the floor and the head lowers into the tote, the unit accepts the full 600–1000 L IBC range. Built for plants that run the same workstation across multiple shifts, with first installs back to 2017 still working today. |
