Open-Head Drum Mixer MBEO-500 (Top-Clamp Mount)
The MBEO-500 is the drum mixer for open-head drums — the kind with a bolted lid you can take off completely so the whole top of the drum is accessible. It clamps around the drum rim with a top clamp and drops a full-size folding propeller straight into the open drum. Different mount than the lid-mount MBEP series, and a different customer base.
Most MBEO-500 units we ship go to furniture coating shops and small paint manufacturers. The typical job is mixing water-based primers, light alkyd paints or wood stains in steel or fibre drums between batches. Some food processors use it too, when they buy ingredients in open-head steel drums and need to re-homogenise before transferring to the production line.

How to know if your drum is open-head
If the top of the drum is a separate piece held on by a metal ring with a bolt or quick-release clamp, it is an open-head drum. You can take the whole top off. The MBEO-500 clamps around the now-exposed rim. If instead your drum is a sealed plastic chemical drum where you only see a small lid you twist off, that is not an open-head drum — you need the lid-mount MBEP-500 instead.

The pneumatic drum mixer for shops that do not want to run electricity into the mixing area. Same lid-mount platform as the MBEP series, but with an oil-free air motor running from a standard 6–7 bar shop air line. Customers tell us the deciding factor is usually one of two things: avoiding the cost of an electric install in the mixing zone, or working with solvents where a no-spark drive is the safer choice on principle.
