Heavy-Duty Open-Head Drum Mixer MBEO-5000

The MBEO-5000 is the heavy-duty version of our open-head drum mixer. Same top-clamp mount as the MBEO-500, but with a bigger motor — 1.1 kW (1.5 HP) instead of 0.55 kW — and three mechanical speeds for batches that need adjustable rpm. Viscosity range goes up to 5,000 mPa*s.

This is the version we ship when the open-head drum holds something heavier than water-based paint. Solvent-bearing alkyd and polyurethane coatings, polyester resins, PUR adhesives, bituminous compounds, dense food intermediates. The same furniture coating shops that buy the MBEO-500 for water-based products often also buy the MBEO-5000 for their solvent paint line.

• Solvent-based paints and lacquers — alkyd, polyurethane, nitro (non-Ex areas).
• Polyester and epoxy resins in steel drums.
• Industrial adhesives — PUR, MS, diluted hot-melt.
• Bituminous compounds and waterproofing products.
• Heavy food intermediates — concentrated syrups, dense oils, molasses in open-head drums.

Not ATEX

The MBEO-5000 is electric and not ATEX-certified. If your drum contains solvent vapours and your area is formally classified, you need certified equipment. We do not currently offer an ATEX-rated drum mixer in this size as a catalogue item — for solvent chemistry in a classified zone we either build a custom-certified version (talk to us) or recommend the IBC-side MKP-5000 Ex if you can move from drums to IBC totes.

For informal solvent work without a classified zone, the pneumatic MBPP-1000 is the safer drum-format option (naturally intrinsically safe drive, lower viscosity range).
