ATEX IBC Mixer Zone 1 — MKE-10000 Ex Full ATEX (II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb)
Application and model advantage
The top explosion-proof execution in our range — an ATEX IBC mixer / IBC tank mixer with full II 2G certification, approved for service in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas). Every element of the design — motor, control box, cables, earthing, propeller, bridge — has been engineered to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU requirements. Full marking: II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb. Mandatory wherever an IBC tote contains organic solvents, solvent-based coatings, fuels or other flammable liquids.
The MKE-10000 Ex Full ATEX explosion-proof IBC agitator handles all three duty modes — blending miscible flammable liquids, re-suspension of settled solids and dissolution of powders — at viscosities up to 10,000 mPa*s (cP): heavy epoxy and polyester resins, solvent-based adhesives (diluted PUR), nitro lacquers, solvent-based paints, bituminous pastes with solvents, fuel concentrates. The 1.5 kW (2 HP) motor in full ATEX execution delivers ample torque even at the highest viscosity — without any risk of sparking or overheating.
"Full ATEX" means the explosion-proof execution covers the entire mixer: motor, control box, switches, cables, the 1.4301 stainless steel transport bridge and a complete earthing system that dissipates electrostatic charge. Compare to the MKE-10000 Ex (standard ATEX — Ex motor only, Zone 2). The Full ATEX execution is required in the most restrictive applications — production of solvent-based paints and coatings, fuel blending, varnish manufacturing — where the entire production hall is classified as Zone 1.
Most common applications inside an IBC tote
- Production of solvent-based paints and coatings — Zone 1 (IBC totes with nitro, alkyd, polyurethane paints).
- Flammable resin mixing — epoxy, polyester with styrene, phenolic.
- Solvent-based adhesives — contact, neoprene, diluted PUR.
- Fuel and additive blending — IBC totes with petrol concentrates, fuel additives, biodiesel components.
- Automotive and furniture coating lines with IBC totes of solvent chemistry.
- Applications requiring full compliance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU — category II 2G.

Construction, materials and compatibility
Full ATEX execution (II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb) covers every element of the mixer: an Ex d (flameproof) explosion-proof electric motor, a control box with an Ex-enclosed switch, Ex-rated cables and glands, a complete earthing system (earthed bridge, propeller, shaft and frame) that dissipates electrostatic charge, and a 1.4301 stainless steel transport bridge (electrically conductive). The ∅350 mm 316Ti acid-resistant stainless steel propeller is approved both for food contact (EC 1935/2004) and for service in an explosive atmosphere. Ships with full CE documentation and ATEX Declaration of Conformity.
